Gymkhana Friday 30th June 2017

Never mind the weather, we all had a great day out at this year’s Gymkhana. The riders and their horses had fun racing against each other in the outdoor arena. Musical statues was the best game; the horses didn’t know they had to stop when the music stopped!!

Everyone competing in the races earned a rosette for finishing. The squeaks of delight from the riders were infectious. Lots of people were there watching the fun and games, cheering on the riders.

Next, onto the serious business of the obstacle course, laid out for us by Terry Parlby and John Box. Many thanks to them. As the riders crossed the finish line they received a medal, which hung proudly around their necks. The final excitement for the riders was when they collect their certificates and a photo of themselves on their pony.

To everyone who gave their time to help us.

Volunteers, parents, carers, relations and friends of the riders. And, of course, to all the stable staff, including Julie and Chris, and the horses.

A special thanks to Rab Donoghue and the O2 team who come every year to help us.
