Time table

Each week during school term times we run the following rides

Monday

1.30 and 2.30  - Sponsor: Lesley Puckering
Coordinator: Shean Hatfield; Ride Leaders: Morag Bennett and Carol Fleetwood
These rides are for adults and all volunteers are trained to use the hoist.  There are three or four riders on each ride and the rides last for 45 minutes.

Tuesday

9.30 – Sponsor: Rose Stuttard
Coordinator and Ride Leader: Rob Lewin; 
This ride is for adults and all volunteers are trained to use the hoist. There are four riders on the ride and it lasts for an hour.

10.30 – Sponsor:  Sally Bennett
Coordinator and Ride Leader: Belinda Yarrow;  Physiotherapist: Lucy Longden
The ride is for the under five year olds who ride for 20 minutes because they are so young, so in an hour three riders use each pony. The volunteers learn to support children with a wide variety of special needs.

5.00  - Sponsor: Sophie Whiting and 5.45 - Sponsor: Snowball
Coordinator: Sue Oxley; Ride Leader: Laura Cowing
These rides are for school children so that they can ride after school and before bedtime.  However, two of the riders have been with us for such a long time they are now in their 30’s. The rides last for 45 minutes and there are four riders on each ride. The volunteers are trained to use the hoist.

Wednesday

9.30 – Sponsor: Rotary Catalysts Business Networking
Coordinator and Ride Leader: Anne Barber; Physiotherapist: Lucy Longden
The ride is also for the under five year olds and is similar to the Tuesday 10.30 ride.

10.30 – Sponsor: Derry Jones
Coordinator: Gillian Whitaker; Ride Leader: Morag Bennett
The ride is for adults and all volunteers are trained to use the hoist. There are three riders on the ride and it lasts for an hour. The volunteers are also trained to support adults who find it more comfortable to use a blanket to ride on rather than a saddle.

10.30 – STAN rides with the STAN team
Up to three riders attend in the morning.  There may also be a session in the afternoon.

4.45 – Sponsor: Sally Baines
Coordinator and Ride Leader: Tracy Neville
This ride is for school children so that they can ride after school and before bedtime. There are five riders on the ride and it lasts for 45 minutes. There may be the opportunity for children to ride STAN especially if a child needs more support or if the weather is cold and wet.

Thursday

Thursday 1.45 – Sponsor: Cheridan Raithby Trust
Coordinator and Ride Leader: Janice Ainsworth
This ride is for adults and all volunteers are trained to use the hoist.  There are four riders on the ride and it lasts for an hour.  The volunteers are also trained to support riders with a variety of special needs.

Thursday 6.30  – Sponsor: The Azerley Estate

Thursday 7.30 - Sponsor: The Knaresborough Mummers
Coordinator: Rosemary Turner: Ride Leader: Peter Whatley
These rides are for adults and older teenagers.  Both rides last for an hour and there are three or four riders on each ride.  All volunteers are trained to use the hoist.

Friday

Friday 10.15 – Sponsor: Rotary Catalysts Business Networking

The ride is for the under five year olds who ride for 30 minutes because they are so young, so in an hour two riders use each pony. The volunteers learn to support children with a variety of special needs.

Sunday

Sunday 3.00 – Sponsor: Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes
Coordinator: Denise Evans; Ride Leader: Les Evans
This ride is for children and older teenagers; on one of the alternate weeks the children are proficient at riding and are being trained to transfer to lessons with the stables.  There are four children on the ride and it lasts for an hour.

Sunday 4.15 – Sponsor: James and Florence Beeny
Coordinator: Denise Evans; Ride Leader: Les Evans
This ride is for children and older teenagers.  There are four children on the ride and it lasts for an hour.

Carriage Driving

This runs from April until October and usually on weekday mornings.


STAN the mechanical horse

Currently STAN is operated on a Wednesday but could possibly be used on other days depending upon the need.
